A Message from Deborah Mazzeo, Piner Elementary School’s Principal:

Welcome Back! It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the new Principal of Piner Elementary School. I am truly honored to accept this new role and look forward to continuing my work with my new Assistant Principal, Tobree Mostel, and the rest of the Piner staff, in our efforts to do whatever it takes to advance the achievement of our pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade students.

I am incredibly eager to begin my third year here at Piner Elementary School! The “2017-2018” school year will be filled with a plethora of opportunities for all of our students as we strive to utilize instructional strategies that allow our student achievement to be even better than before!  As Piner Elementary School’s Principal, I embark on this journey alongside our teachers, students, and parents. I ensure that this school year will include engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and opportunities for parental and community involvement.

Piner maintains the most energetic and enthusiastic highly qualified professional educators and support personnel who are committed to providing our students many educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. I invite and encourage parents to work in partnership with this exemplary learning community to seize opportunities in all facets of the school.

I look forward to a very positive and productive year together!  It is with great pleasure that I extend a special, year-long invitation to our families and community members to join us at school activities and events whenever possible.  Building strong relationships between home and school is a key factor is increasing student achievement during these primary school years.  Please know that home/school communication is valued here at Piner Elementary. Parental participation and input is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success.  I encourage you to contact me if/when the need arises, and to stay abreast about your child’s studies, assignments, assessments, and school events/activities.

Again, I welcome you to Piner Elementary School and to our wonderful learning community . . . a place alive with much passion. . . respect. . . integritydeterminationand a high standard of excellence!  It is, indeed, a place where opportunities thrive!  Here’s to an AWESOME new school year as we work collaboratively to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!
