Students at Piner Elementary School, Kindergarteners enter into the magical world of LetterLand where characters come to life, sharing their love for sounds and words to help themselves read and write. In Mrs. Albertson's class, Kindergarten students kick off the start of the year by dressing up as a LetterLander and listening for initial sounds. Students work together to find other words with the same initial sound to practice an important skill called "segmenting" or breaking up a word into sounds. Over time, these Kindergarteners will be able to use segmenting to become writers!!
